On a possible violation of the optical theorem in LHC experiments

M Kupczynski – arxive:1308.1447 [hep-phy]

Abstract:The impossibility of scattering phenomena without the existence of the elastic

channel is considered to be a part of the quantum magic. However if one takes seriously

the idea that the hadrons are extended particles one may define a unitary S matrix such

that one  cannot prove  the optical theorem. In this paper we recall these results  and

we give the additional arguments why the optical theorem may be violated in LHC.

Scattering of extended hadrons and time-reversal invariance

M Kupczynski - Hadronic J 9. 215-218 (1986)

Abstract: An unconventional description of scattering of extended hadrons is
proposed which could shed some light on the meaning of the recently published data
indicating a violation of the time-reversal invariance of nuclear reactions…

Purity tests for π-d charge multiplicity distributions - Springer

J.Gajewski and M.Kupczynski, Lett. al Nuovo Cimento,26,81-87 (1979)

Abstract: Various purity tests of the multi- prong distribution obtained from emulsion are performed..

The optical theorem, a purity of the initial states and the rising total cross-sections

M Kupczyński – Czech. J.Phys. B27, 17-28 (1977)

Abstract A possibility of the violation of the optical theorem at high energies due to the mixed
character of the initial states is discussed. A close connection of this idea with the MIT—bag
model of hadrons is shown. The experimental evidence for the validity of the optical ...

On some important statistical tests

M Kupczynski - La Rivista del Nuovo Cimento, 7, 215-227(1977)

Abstract: Recently the need for more accurate tests of the purity of the initial ensemble of states has
been pointed out [1, 2]. In this paper we want to review some slightly less known among
physicists theorems from the mathematical statistics and the statistical tests based on them ...

Tests for the purity of the initial ensemble of states in scattering experiments

M Kupczynski - Lett. Nuovo Cimento, 11,  121-124 (1974)

Abstract:Recently a hypothesis was formulated (1) that the initial ensemble of two-particle states E is
a mixed quantum ensemble with respect to the set of quantum numbers={S, A, l, a}, where S
denotes the total invariant spin, A its projection on the direction of the total linear
...

New description of the initial states

M Kupczyński   - Lett. Nuovo Cimento, 11, 117-120 (1974)

Description: It is shown that if the initial  states are a particular mixed state then one can have
a unitary S matrix and the violation of the optical theorem.

Unitarity without the optical theorem

M Kupczyński – Lett. Nuovo Cimento , 9, 134-136 (1974)

Abstract:The general belief is that the unitarity of the S-matrix necessarily implies the optical theorem.
The unitarity of the S-matrix is derived from the conservation of probability. The conservation
of probability is an obvious and unquestionable truth, so the optical theorem is believed to ...

 Is the optical theorem violated?

M Kupczyński - Physics Letters 47B, 244-246 (1973)

Abstract: In this letter we analyse  pp, πp,πd, Kp and Kd data to check the hypothesis of
the break of the optical theorem presented in our previous paper.

On the additivity assumptions

M Kupczyński - Warsaw University preprint IFT/71/15, 1971

Abstract: Some misunderstandings concerning the additivity assumption in the quark model are explained..
New relativistic the additivity without spectators” assumption is formulated…

It is shown that all the speculation as to which is the additivity frame are misleading.
